Where is My Slice of the Mining Pie?
Proudly presented by Advance Cairns and The Cairns Chamber of Commerce, Austropex Conference Mining Session will examine the issues surrounding the mining supply chain in Tropical North Queensland.
Recently, there has been plenty of media hype surrounding the mining sector and many myths about doing business with this industry. Sure we’ve heard there are big dollars involved but how do Tropical North Queensland businesses capitalize on these opportunities? This session is designed to help potential mine suppliers (both goods and service providers) understand what is expected of them, how to engage and a realistic assessment of risks against potential returns.
The session includes presentations from Advance Cairns and The Cairns Chamber of Commerce’s Resource & Industrial Taskforce explaining how businesses can access their knowledge, participate in business development activities and utilize their resources.
This is followed by a presentation from Integrated Improvement about the mining industry supply chain explaining where you fit and what you need to do to achieve pre-qualification so you can tender for work.
Finally, this session concludes with a panel of our region’s resource sector identities who will take questions from the audience and lead discussion around the potential for businesses to benefit from engagement with the mining industry in our region.
